Bristol Rovers kicked off the pre-season with a win at Melksham.

Bristol Rovers kicked off their pre-season with a win away against Melksham Town.

Manager Matt Taylor started with many of the new summer signing, but Chris Martin and Grant Ward were missing. It took Rovers just 10 minutes to take the lead when summer signings Issac Hutchinson and Ruel Sotiriou combined, after good work from Ruel Sotiriou he saw his shot saved and Hutchinson was on hand to slot home. Rovers changed the entire starting eleven at half time and academy youngster Ollie Dewsbury a half time sub doubled the lead moments into the second half when he slotted in Bryant Bilongo’s cross to make it 2-0.

Melsham hit back with two quick goals from Stroud and Graham to draw the non-lesgue outfit level. Summer signing from Chippenham Town got Rovers back in the lead when he headed home Luke McCormicks cross on 70 minutes, just six minutes later Ellison added his second and Rovers fourth again heading home this time from Jevani Brown.

Bristol Rovers: Ward (Hall 46), Moore (Ellison 46), Wilson (White 46), Mola (Connolly 46), Senior (Leipus 46) (Sughayer 71), Conteh (Shaw 46), Lawrence (Edwards 46), Thomas (Bilongo 46), Hutchinson (McCormick 46), Sinclair (Dewsbury 46), Sotiriou (Brown 46)
