Bristol Rovers, A Family Club?

A red card for Rovers as they announce the Fun Day and there is a fee!

Bristol Rovers have released the date for the Family Fun Day, an event that many families look forward to each year and an opportunity to engage with the fans of the future.

This year though Rovers have changed the name and it's now called a "Festival" and are charging fans an entrance fee. It’s £7 for adults and £5 for children, it's terribly short-sighted from Rovers. Make it free and families will come and spend money in the food outlets and bars and potentially grab the interest of some young  fans of the future. There is a family ticket option which is £15, but I believe this should be free as it always has been. Also why a Thursday? The Fun day as always been on a Sunday, a day for the family.

Supporters have already had to stump up extra cash if they wanted to buy a season ticket with kids prices increasing pricing families out of watching Rovers. The cheapest options for a family of two adults and two young children would cost a total of £976. There has also been £15 charge for a season card introduced the season.

This was the only opportunity for some families to enjoy Rovers and The Memorial Stadium together as it's very costly to take a whole family to a game these days. Come on Rovers, think about the future and make Bristol Rovers a club for families to enjoy. The club needs supporters of the future now more than ever!
