Evans set to depart

Midfield Starman Anthony Evans is set to leave Rovers this summer after Rovers have accepted a bid for the playmaker.

The bid is believed to be around £450,000 from Rovers League One Rivals Huddersfield Town. There is also further interest from Birmingham City and Bolton Wanderers. The 25-year-old has less than a year to run on his current contract and is believed to be reluctant to sign a new deal. He made 52 appearances for Rovers last season scoring ten times, with a further nine assists.

Evans has played a pivotal role in helping the Gas gain promotion from League Two in his first season with The Gas following his arrival from German side Paderborn three seasons ago, he was brought to Rovers by former Manager Joey Barton.
