Basic Derby County Information:
Derby have won 2, lost 3, drawn 1 of their last 6 matches, scoring 4 goals & conceding 9
goals - currently 14th in the form table
They’ve lost 4 of their last 6 away matches, including the last 3
They are currently 19th in the championship (on 38 points) after playing 34 games, scoring
25 goals & conceding 38 goals
It fair to say that Derby have not found it easy scoring goals. Colin Kazim-Richards is top
scorer with 7 goals. Other scorers to take note of are Martyn Waghorn (3 goals) & on-loan
Lee Gregory (2 goals)
Louise Sibley, 19-year-old winger is also one to watch - he’s being tracked by a few
premiership clubs
Basic Barnsley Information:
The Reds have won all of their last 7 matches, scoring 13 goals & conceding 3 goals, & are
currently 2nd (or equal 1st with Norwich) in the form table
We have won 4 of our last 5 home matches, scoring 9 goals & conceding 4 goals.
We are currently 6th in the championship (on 57 points) after playing 34 matches, scoring
42 goals & conceding 37 goals.
We have clearly found it easier than Derby to score goals this season. Cauley Woodrow is
top scorer with 10 goals. Other scorers include Alex Mowatt (6 goals), Callum Styles (4
goals), Michal Helik (4 goals) with recent signings Carlton Morris (4 goals) & Darryl Dike
(3 goals)
Past history in the last 10 matches between the clubs since December 2013:
We have won 3 games, Derby 6 games with 1 draw
The corresponding match last season was a 2-0 victory to the Reds.
There are no easy matches in the Championship & this game is no exception. Despite this, we can
approach the game, confident of getting a positive result. If we can't be confident in winning a
record 7 games in succession at this level, when can we be? We have a strike force who are a
handful for any team with goals also=coming from elsewhere. The defence has shown itself capable
of dealing with most things “thrown” at it.
The lads in the Red All Over YouTube show are certainly confident with their predictions:
Joe, Andy & Big Kev - 2-1
Alan - 2-0
Rob - 1-0
(Note that Kev is assisted by psychic guinea pigs & rabbits so it must be true - watch the show &
you’ll understand,)
