King Louis strikes twice in victory against Chelsea...

It was just what the doctor ordered after the merseyside derby defeat,the blues gave a battling performance to overcome there london counterparts.

I questioned how the players and the fans would react after the weekend,and it was a worry because for half an hour,the whole place was like a morgue and Chelsea were treating the occasion like a training match.

It came as no surprise when chelsea took the lead after 16 mins when a flick on by drogba was easily picked up by malouda and he finished with a plomb to give the away side the advantage,you could hear a pin drop in Goodison and everyone feared the worst.

Then Everton finally woke up,baines had a shot well saved by cech,then a corner from the right by donovan was met by saha gleefully to send the home crowd into raptures.

As the seconds ticked down towards half time,first donovan played in saha and he fired straight at cech,then donovan was upended by carvalho and the ref whiley pointed to the spot!! It was unbelieveable how the game had changed,saha was the man to step up,but a piss poor penalty resulted in cech parrying away easily!!.

Everton came out the traps strongly in the 2nd half and after a few near chances going astray,a great pass over the top was met by saha who took it on the chest and superbly volleyed past cech to give the blues a deserved lead!!

Then it was all chelsea as everton hung on for a vital 3 points on a great night at the Old Lady!!
