Manchester City manager Mark Hughes still won’t give up as far as Joleon Lescott is concerned, despite David Moyes repeatedly saying no, the Citeh boss still believes he can sign the England defender.
City have had two bids of £15 million and £18 million rejected by the Toffees and a formal transfer request from the player has also been turned down. Moyes then made it clear once again that Everton would not be selling any of their players.
However, Hughes is still hopeful a deal can be done, speaking at a press conference on Thursday, he said: "We're looking to strengthen the defensive options that we have.
"We are still trying to speak to the people who will ultimately make the decision over whether the deal continues.
"Those conversations are still to take place but how long they will still be active is open to debate," he added.
