New boss Steve Bruce has completed his second signing as Sunderland Manager by acquiring the services of Paraguayan International Paulo Da Silva.

The 29-year-ol centre back, who captains the Paraguayan national team, joins the Black Cats from Mexican outfit Toluca, where he also served as skipper.  He has signed a three-year deal.

Da Silva has over 50 international caps for his country and has previously enjoyed spells in Italy with Perugia and Venezia and is predominantly deployed on the right side of central defence.

Bruce said: "I'm delighted to have signed a player of Paulo's experience.

"He is captain of his country and has played at the highest level in South America so will bring leadership qualities to our side."
