Sunderland 'keeper Marton Fulop says his side's performance in their 2-0 home loss to Everton was "not acceptable". The loss was Sunderland's sixth loss in their last seven games and Fulop says the club needs to see more fight from the team. "It was very disappointing. said the Hungarian. "We were not good enough to win the game. We have to be better than that - it was not acceptable.
 
"With Newcastle losing before us on Sunday, we still had a bit of luck going with us.
 
"But we can't rely on other teams."
 
After an evenly balanced first half, during which Everton still had the edge in possession and chances, Steven Pienaar held off Phil Bardsley's challenge to poke home a 48th-minute opener from Jo's clever pass.
 
Marouane Fallaini doubled the lead with 19 minutes remaining after the Sunderland defence was badly stretched.
 
Fulop said: "At half-time, the game could have gone either way and it did not go our way.
 
"It is getting frustrating now - we don't have many games left.
 
"With the other results, we had a great chance, but we wasted it."
 
A trip to Bolton is next for Sunderland on Saturday and Fulop added: "The only thing we can focus on is getting a result.
 
"We have three weeks left and we have to give the best we can."
