A busy weekend for Albion sides. Three matches in three days. One at home and two away.  

Busy weekend for Albion.

 

Albion have three matches this weekend two for Warriors and Sunday the trip to Nottingham.

Westcountry Warriors v Barnstaple II

The weekend should have started with the visit of London Scottish to Brickfields on Saturday in the Canterbury Shield. Instead Warriors will be taking on Barnstaple at 3pm.  The last four Westcountry Warriors' matches have seen 224 points scored so if form is anything to go on Saturday will be an exciting match to watch. The team is set to include two recent signings Mike Hayes at 3 and Sila Va'Enuku at outside centre.

Main Event

The main event of the weekend must be Albion's trip to Nottingham for a 2:30 kick off. I am hoping to get updates on the message board during the match but this will depend on having someone texting me. If you are going and could text regular updates please email me.

Nottingham sit 13th in the table and despite only winning one match out of seven 2 of their 5 bonus points are for tries. They have held Exeter, Leeds and Newbury to within 7 points to gain their other three bonus points.

Last season Nottingham beat Albion at home and came a close second at Brickfields. Albion will be looking to continue their good form to ensure that this does not happen again this season.

Second placed Plymouth Albion travel to 13^th placed Nottingham looking to keep the pressure on leaders Earth Titans. 

 

Nottingham are at the wrong end of the table with six defeats in seven matches to date this season, in three of the defeats they have picked up losing bonus points.  

At home they have come unstuck against Exeter Chiefs and Leeds Tykes and got their only win against Waterloo .

 

Albion have made a positive start to the season with six wins out of seven with just a loss at Exeter chiefs to blot their copybook.

Not the most prolific of scores and are the only top five side not to have passed the 200 points yet.   

 

What Nottingham would do for a repeat of last seasons victory over Albion 21-15 and at Brickfields they ran them close before going down 23-22.

 

Prediction: Albion to leave with a six point win. 

 

Bet Fred are predicting a 13 point win to Albion.

Launceston A v Westcountry Warriors

The final match of the weekend is on Monday evening when the Westcountry Warriors make the short trip to Polson Bridge to play Launceston A in the Tamer shield.  Warriors are still unbeaten in this competition winning all but one matches. The only draw being against Redruth after the long trip to Otley last month. The match kicks off in their floodlit stadium at 7:30.
