David Thompson, Stephane Henchoz and Reto Ziegler have all left Wigan Athletic.
Former
Jewell has thanked both players for helping the club to a hugely successful season in the Premiership and has also admitted that it was a tough decision to let them both go.
"Stephane has played a major part in our season, in particular at the start of the season when his experience was crucial," Jewell said. "He has been an absolute model professional.
"Thommo is a good little player, but he has found it difficult, in particular as he has had a couple of niggly injuries. But he is very unlucky because you could see what he's capable of at Arsenal.
"So it was a tough decision, but I've just thought for next season we will try something different."
Reto Ziegler meanwhile, has returned to Tottenham Hotspur after completing his loan spell.
Ziegler may be back next year if Jewell decides to make an offer for the Swiss U-21 midfielder. He was signed by previous Spurs boss Jacques Santini and may not feature in the plans of Martin Jol.
