Chelsea Preview

Everton are hosts to defending champions Chelsea, on Sunday. Everton have got 3 points in 8 games so far this season with goals being of major concern. Moyes has the full backing of the board and at this point of the season, sacking Moyes is not on the books. Worse case scenario, he will be our manager in the Championship, but it won't get to that point as the squad have been boosted with the news that Kroldrup and Van Der Meyde are putting games under their belts in the Reserves but Moyes did not want to play them on Sunday, damage limitation is the main issue. There's no point in losing a further 3 points and a player like VDM to injury.

De Ja Vu?
The main issue this week has been the emergence that James Beattie may miss the game due to a deadleg sustained mid week against Sunderland Reserves. The player is expected to recover on, yeah, you guessed it, the day after the clash. A similar issue arose on the trip to White Hart Lane and he made a remarkable recovery for the reserves game.

...but...
The best news yet is that Kroldrup and The Flying Dutchman state that they feel ready to play some part in the Chelsea game but that is unlikely incase of a reoccurence of previous injuries but may appear as substitutes to run the players out. Arteta is waiting to hear whether he is getting the nod from the neurologist, which should be released at some point today.
