Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has said that he will consider going out on loan on in order to play regular first team football. Hendrie, who has played for Villa for his whole career, has missed the majority of this season firstly due to a suspension and then because of a knee injury. However, since returning from the injury lay-off, he has been unable to regain his spot in midfield and has slipped down David O'Leary's pecking order.

Speaking earlier today, the 28 year-old said, "It's probably the worst start I've had to a season. I've got through the operation and the injury is fine, but I was disappointed not to play against Burnley or Manchester City.

"I can't really afford to sit around and wait for my opportunity because I'll be 29 soon and that's when you start to slow down a little bit.

"So going out on loan is maybe another route I will consider come Christmas time if things aren't going well for me, just to get games because I'm not a young lad."

However, Hendrie distanced himself from reports that he wants to leave Villa Park altogether as he commented, "That's not saying I don't want to be at Villa - I do - and I want to finish my career here, but it's an option. At the moment I'm thinking positive and I believe I'm going to get my place back."
