Liverpool Boss Gerard Houllier could bring forward the signing of Senegal International Salif Diao if England man Steven Gerrard's latest injury is serious.
England International Gerrard who pulled out of the World Cup due to a consistant thigh problem has been sent for scans on his recent hernia operation.
"We will decide what to do after the scan. I don't think it is major but we will wait and see," Houllier told the Daily Mail.
"If it becomes a recurring problem with him then we will bring in Diao earlier."
