Liverpool and England star Michael Owen says it is just a matter of time before the Anfield Club win the Premiership Crown.

Owen Speaking after the disappointment of the 1-0 defeat to Spurs that looks to have ended Liverpool's Interest in the Championship Race.

"It was disappointing losing to Tottenham because we had been on such a good run," said Owen.

"Everyone would love to win the title, and it's a major goal of mine. I am sure we are going to do it in the next year or two.

"We have shown a lot of improvement in the last three or four years, and I hope we can keep that going.

"Every year we have made a giant step forward. You just have to look at the points total."

Owen said: "I still think that it has been a good season. The points total we will end up with could probably win the league next year. That shows just how far we have come.

"We have such a young side and have grown up together, and I don't think the manager will change things drastically in the summer.

"He might buy one or two players - but that is in his hands."
