Liverpool Boss Gerard Houllier praised the performance of Czech Youngster Milan Baros after he hit a deadly double in the crucial 3-2 victory at Bolton.

Baros making his Premiership bow for Houlliers men scored both his goals in the first half at the reebok stadium in a thrilling encounter in which the Merseysiders had the last word.

Baros replaced England star Owen in the starting line-up and did not dissapoint reds boss Houllier with a stunning performance up front.

I told Michael Owen I was going to rest him because he can't play in all the games," said Houllier.

"He has started seven games in a row after coming back from injury in the World Cup and he now has another eight games coming up, including the Champions League and a double header with the international side. It is impossible for him to start all the games.

"Milan has good skill and an eye for goal. I signed him last year and it took him six months to bed in and learn the language.

"I think some of the backroom staff didn't dare tell me but for the first three or four months they thought I had made a mistake. I never did."

Bolton hit back with goals from Ricardo Gardner and Ivan Campo but Heskey's Strike 2 minutes from time won it for The Reds and gave them then vital 3 points.
