Liverpool forward El Hadji Diouf has hit back at claims that he is a diver after The Reds went down 1-0 in the Community Shield to Arsenal in Cardiff.

Diouf went down in the box after a challenge by Patrik Viera in which afterwards the fireworks started, Viera and several other Arsenal players accused the Senegal star of Diving and Viera tryed to pull Diouf up by his shirt.

The Referee ignored Diouf's penalty claim , but El Hadji still insists there was contact made and he did not dive.

Diouf claimed: "It was a penalty, definitely, but the referee is the master on the pitch and he didn't give it. There's nothing I can do about that.

"I know the Arsenal players think I dived, but I didn't.

"There was definite contact and the referee should take a look at the video and he will see then that there was contact.

"I was fouled, and it should have been a penalty."
