Burtons Pre Season Friendlies

Burton face some big pre season friendlies this season as they play their first few home games at the new Pirelli Stadium. One of these is a visit from Stuart Pearce's Manchester City. Burton start the season with a trip to minors Mickleover Sports on the 15th July. Then the next day they play their first game at the Pirelli Stadium against Chester City. On Monday the 18th July Burton travel the short distance to play Gresley Rovers in the opening game of the Bass Charity Vase.

Hull City become the 2nd team to play at the Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday the 20th of July. The friendly being arranged as part of Matt Dukes transfer to Hull at the beginning of last season. Burton welcome Nottingham Forest to the Pirelli Stadium 5 days later in the Bass Charity Vase.

After that Derby County travel to the Pirelli Stadium to face the Brewers on the 30th July. The most glamorous friendly has to be the visit of Stuart Pearce's Manchester City on the 2nd of August. Because of the relationship between Pearce and Clough, Manchester City are expected to field a decent quality side.

Then Nuneaton Borough make the short trip to the Pirelli Stadium on the 6th of August and the last friendly before the season starts will be away against Rocester on the 9th August.

Six home pre season friendlies means me can settle in to the Pirelli Stadium well and get ready to make some new memories there aswell as all the memories we have of Eton Park.
