Well v Hibs

The SPL have announced another Friday night fixture, with Motherwell v Hibs being moved to Friday 2nd December.

After the relative success of the first fixture last month betweenAberdeenandDunfermline, where the Dons had their highest crowd of the season, the SPL are back in the mood for another Friday night game.

Motherwell v Hibs seems a sensible choice with the sides not too far away from each other and Motherwell playing some decent stuff at the moment.

It is also an interesting choice as Motherwell will be prepared to look at anything they can to increase their attendances, with manager Stuart McCall bemoaning the low attendance at last Saturday’s TV match withKilmarnock.

Hibs fans will be looking for an initiative on the pricing for the night to entice them out on a Friday night to travel to darkest Lanarkshire!!

I for one applaud this initiative as we need to try whatever we need to try to get people back watching Scottish football at any level.

It will be interesting to see if the SFL now follow up this announcement with a Friday fixture of their own, after the success of the Partick v Morton last month.
