Scotland were last night drawn in a World Cup 2014 draw which includes: Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, Macedonia and Wales.
For me this is certainly not the worst group we could have ended up with as we have at least avoided the true European power houses of Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland or England.
I think if we make the genuine progress that Craig Levein believes we are making we should be in good shape by the time the qualifiers kick off next year. I would even go as far as to say this is a group we could actually win despite being drawn from pot 4.
On the other hand, it is a group that if we are not at our best could see us stay 61st in the World and doomed never to qualify for a major championships ever again!
Now this draw has been made, we should now forget about it and make sure we do whatever we can to get out of our Euro qualifying group. The friendly with Denmark on 10th August is important, ahead of the games with the Czech Republic and Lithuania in September.
