Another bid for a player for Rangers has been deemed not to be good enough, with Anderlecht rejecting a bid for defender Roland Juhasz.

The Belgian side have rejected a second bid from Rangers for defender Roland Juhasz, describing the offer as “way below” their valuation of the player.

Rangers had an initial bid rejected last weekend, the SPL Champions made a new bid to the Brussels based club on Thursday, which has been reported as being around £2.5 million.

Anderlecht though have again turned down Rangers’ overtures for their defender, saying the Scots have chosen to ignore the price they were previously quoted.

“We received a second bid from Rangers today which is way below our valuation,” an Anderlecht spokesperson told STV today.

“It is not enough for an experienced player like Roland. Rangers know our valuation for the player and they haven’t met it.

“We are not actively looking to sell Roland. Last season we extended his contract. He is one of the leaders and most experienced players at our club.”

This seems to be the trend of the summer for Rangers and their penny pinching seems to be preventing them from adding to their squad.

They have already had a bid for David Goodwillie of Dundee United dismissed as being far too low, reportedly being only £1m when the Tannadice club are looking for twice that amount!

It’s a far cry from the Souness era at Ibrox when money appeared no option as they brought the likes of Butcher, Woods and Wilkins north. 

If they don’t watch they could be out of Europe and a few points behind Celtic in the title bid before the transfer window closes at the end of next month.
