After losing out on three transfer targets already this season Rangers keep plugging away.

It is reported they have finally made an offer to Dundee United for David Goodwillie. The offer is meant to be around £1 million, a bit of an insult when United have already stated they want two million for him!!

They have also made an improved bid for Lee Wallace of Hearts, after initially bidding £300000 they have now come back with an offer of £1 million, we will have to wait and see if that is accepted.

At last it looks as though the other SPL teams are standing up to one of the Old Firm and demanding the real market value for their players. They are probably safe in the knowledge Championship sides in England will offer the real value and means the player will not turn out against them.

Hopefully this is the start of a new trend that is replicated across the SPL, and force the Old Firm to pay up.

It is also a test of the mettle of new Rangers owner, Craig Whyte, and Director of Football, Gordon Smith, will they put the club’s money where their mouths are. Or will they end up losing face by missing out on another two targets that their fans would expect them to win any battle to sign.
