Munro celebrates

Celtic’s 3-2 defeat at Inverness has handed the initiative to Rangers who now know if they win all their games they will win the title.

Celtic made a whirlwind start at the start of the game but were a goal behind when Adam Rooney scored with the home side’s first attack of the game. Celtic were quickly back on level terms with a stunning goal from Kris Commons.

As everyone sat back expecting Celtic to go on and win the game comfortably it wasn’t to be.

Inverness took the game by the scruff of the neck at the start of the second half, Grant Munro fired in a stunning bending shot from 15 yards as Celtic failed to deal with a corner. Not long afterwards it was 3-1 with Shane Sutherland volleying past Fraser Forster.

Celtic never got any fluency about their game and it took a penalty in stoppage time to get a sniff at a point. Maloney was fouled by Tokley for Commons to drill a low shot past the keeper.

There was second penalty shout four minutes into stoppage time when McCourt tumbled in the box, and ref O’Reilly rightly waved away the claims.

Celtic never raised their game to the heights required of potential Champions with many players not performing at a key time once again. The central defensive partnership were torn apart by Adam Rooney, Izaguirre having his worst game in a Celtic jersey and Hooper and Stokes being totally ineffective.
