Dunfermline edged closer to the First Division championship with a derby win over Raith this afternoon, while Arbroath won an Angus derby to secure the Third Division title.

The First Division is almost over with Dunfemline moving four points ahead of local rivals Raith Rovers with a comeback 2-1 win this afternoon. Chris Baird opened the scoring for Raith but a double from Martin Hardie sealed the win for the Pars.

This puts Dunfermline in the driving seat going into the last couple of games, and one more win will see them promoted as Champions.

At the other end of the table Stirling Albion are already relegated, with the play off going down to a straight race between Cowdenbeath and Ross County. The Dingwall side are to play their twice abandoned game with Queen of the South at neutral Stirling on Tuesday night.

In the Second Division, Livingston are Champions and Peterhead were relegated today thanks to a defeat against East Fife. Two teams also clinched a play off spot for promotion with Ayr and Forfar taking two of the three slots, leaving Brechin, East Fife and Airdrie to battle it out for the last spot.

Arbroath beat Montrose this afternoon to secure the first ever title win in the club’s history meaning they will be playing in the Second Division next season.

This leaves four teams chasing a play off spot, with Albion Rovers, Annan Athletic, Stranraer and Queen’s Park all in the running.
