After coming out of retirement to play as a trialist for Dundee Neil McCann came off the bench to score the winner this afternoon.

McCann agreed to come out of retirement to help one of his former clubs as the look to recover from going into administration, and look to climb out of relegation trouble after having 25 points deducted.

The winger has more recently spent time as a pundit on Sky covering the SPL, although it appears he has been keeping himself fit training with St. Johnstone.

McCann came on as a sub for Stewart with just over half an hour left with Raith a goal up thanks to a Grant Murray strike. Harkins equalised for Dundee with six minutes left with a 25 yard strike.

Then in the final minute McCann headed home a Forsyth corner from 12 yards out to seal all three points for the cash strapped Dundee.

There was some debate tonight on radio phone ins that this is pushing the rules a bit too far with Dundee fielding players like McCann as a trialist when they are under a transfer embargo until the come out of administration.

McCann is allowed to play three games as a trialist between now and the end of March, and I can understand the complaints from other teams as they have no chance or opportunity of signing any trialist they play at the moment.
