Dundee fans have talked of boycotting away games in response to being deducted 25 points yesterday

Dundee fans are talking of boycotting away games for the rest of the season in response to the SFL deducting the club 25 points after going into financial administration.

Dundee Supporters' associations are outraged by the severity of the points deduction and instead of travelling to away games, fans of the Dark Blues will donate money to a fund set up to help safeguard the ailing club's future.

It is also hoped that the move will hit rival clubs in the pocket and force chairman to look sympathetically on their appeal against the 25-point penalty.

Discussions between fans' groups are ongoing but the boycott could start when Dundee travel to Dingwall on Sat 13 November.

I for one would not say to anyone to avoid going to games but surely if you are a fan you would want to get behind your team to help them through these rough times.

It isn't really the fault of the otehr teams that Dundee have over spent again and I am not sure why they should suffer therefore the Dundee fans should maybe just swallow the points deduction and get behind their team each week.

Meanwhile Falkirk Boss Steven Pressley has come out in support of the SFL points deduction,

"I think the SFL have taken the right action and sent out a clear message to everybody; that you have to get your house in order," he said when speaking to the BBC earlier today.

On the subject of a possible boycott from Dundee fans, Pressley added: "Supporters should be venting their frustration at those who were running the club because this situation is down to mismanagement.

"Clubs like ourselves will suffer because Dundee take a big travelling support. Away fans play a big part in our cash flow, so that's disappointing."

There doesn't appear to be too much sympathy for Dundee there then....
