Ex Sheffield United defender David Holdsworth as signed for Premier League giants Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer from Birmingham City. David kick started his footballer career at Watford in 1986, he made less than 250 appearances for the Hornet, until Howard Kendall bought him in October '96 for £450k.

three years and 93 appearances later, Birmingham snapped him up for £1.2million, but at end of the 2001/02 season he went on loan to neighboring Walsall. When his loan period was over the Blues decided to terminate his contract when he had two years left.

Less than a month ago David went on trial at Hibernian, the Scottish Premier League didn't want him and sent him away. On Saturday, day the transfer window closed, he joined Bolton Wanderers were he will play with his twin brother Dean.

In other transfer news Lee Sandford has joined Conference outfit Woking after United gave him a free transfer.
