Preston continued there team building process with the news that Tyrone Mears has signed a new 3 1/2 year deal. This following the contract extension of Gavin Ward, and the new signing of 'boro' keeper Carlo Nash.

Tyrone has been unlucky during his time at North End after he was forced out for nine months with a stress fracture of the tibia.

And on returning to action found he had to move from his favoured position (right back) because of the great form Graham Alexander was producing.

Mears came through the Manchester City Acadamy, and will be hoping for the sort of career other players have had from the same acadamy (Shaun Wright-Phillips, Joey Barton and our own Dickson Etuhu).

And if he can stay injury free there is no reason to suggest why the 22-year old can't have a succesful time at Preston.
