Good news for both Preston boss Billy Davies and Gavin Ward, with the news that he is fit enough to return to training, after his injury against Ipswich Town.
Gavin was given the all clear by a specialist on Friday and returned to training this morning.
It was welcome news for both Gavin himself and manager Billiy Davis.
On the injury gavin said:
"I can remember all of the match including the incident leading up to where I got hit, I just got the ball in two hands and then whack. I didn't even realised that I had been knocked out, it was only when I was in the medical room and I went to get up quick and Andy said be careful don't move too quickly because you've been knocked out, which took me by surprise."
It was Ward's first start since Andy Lonergan got injured saying:
"It was unfortunate but that's the way the game goes, I'm just happy that my eye's fine and that I'm feeling fine because it could have been a lot worse."
Preston have since brought Chris Day to the club so there will be a lot of competition for the keepers shirt:
"I've played against Chris before when he was at QPR and Watford, he's a smashing lad and he's done well in the last two games so it's good competition. I've just got to concentrate on myself and getting myself back into it and then take it from there."
