Wigan manager Paul Jewell could be set to follow up his interest in Motherwell defender Stevie Hammell in the next few days. The Latics manager is a long time admirer of the youngster but he could end up disapointed as the 20 year old is about to commit his future at Motherwell by signing a deal which would keep at Fir Park till 2006. Jewell is also chasing the signature of Hearts player Robert Sloan.




Meanwhile Steven Craig is set to miss the Dunfermline and Aberdeen matches, Terry Butcher said " Steve's had a recurrence of his thigh problem which should keep him out for another fortnight. "
