Phil O'Donnell today took his first steps to winning a contract at Motherwell nine years after leaving the club.
The 31 year old played as a trialist at Fir Park against Kilmarnock under - 21's. The visitors won 1 - 0.
Phil left Motherwell for Celtic in 1994 but injuries meant he only made 115 ( including sub ) appearances for Hoops in the 5 years he spent at Parkhead before moving to Sheffield Wednesday on a free transfer. Once again injuries kept the midfielder out of the side and he only managed 25 games for the ' Owls '.
