Motherwell 1 - 1 Livingston

By Paul Marshall

Motherwell kept up their impressive unbeaten run after drawing with bogey team Livingston 1 - 1 at Fir Park.

Terry Butcher had the luxury of starting the same eleven who had won at Dundee in the previous match while Livingston caretaker manager David Hay kept with the same side which beat Partick two weeks ago.

Livingston defender Brian Kerr who is on loan from Newcastle United had to be stretchered off after clashing awkwardly with Keith Lasley. The Scotland under - 21 star was replaced by Quino.

My Ball !!!

Motherwell took the lead after 28 minutes when Dvaid Clarkson went past Lovell and fired past McKenzie from 25 yards similar to McFadden's last goal for Motherwell against Partick Thistle.

The visitors hit back within ten minutes through David Lilley who had netted the winner against Motherwell at the City Stadium back in August. The striker shot past Marshall from the edge of the box.

Full house in the East Stand.

Motherwell had the ball in the net again but the linesman ruled Steven Craig had fouled the Livi defender.

The only other real chance in the second half came from the left foot of Stevie Hammell, his free kick from 25 yards was superbly saved by Roddy McKenzie.

After the match Terry Butcher said, " The players are gutted, which shows just how far we have come, this is the type of game we would have lost last season. "

" We put in a lot of effort and we have streched our unbeaten run to six. We'd like to win more at home but we have been doing teh business away from home. "

Former Motherwell manager David Hay who is now Livi caretaker boss felt the share of the spoils was fair, he said " Motherwell started brighter and scored a good goal, but the second half alwayslooked like it would be a draw and that was about right. "

" David Fernandez didn't play so well today but that's credit to the way Motherwell marked him. "
