With only one defeat in six game ( and that was at Celtic Park ) Motherwell will go into Sunday's match with Rangers full of optimism for the live BBC match. Terry Butcher's side have picked up 11 points in their last six games which included fantastic away victories over Dundee Unted and Hibernian and a win over Rangers could see the Steelmen jump into third place if results elsewhere go our way.



Terry Butcher could be without Stephen Pearson and Steven Craig who was stretchered off against Dundee United, he told the Evening Times " We'll have to wait and see how Stephen is nearer the game, he's still struggling with the heel injury that kept him out of the Scotland U21s match last week.


" Steven Craig is also a doubt but the rest are fit and hoping to play. "


Alex Burns who has been out for five weeks with an ankle injury could make a return to the squad for the live BBC match.

No one will give much for our chances but this could be the time for a 1-1 draw.






Rangers 2 - 0 Motherwell

Rangers will welcome back Craig Moore from injury while Ronald De Boer has stated that the earliest he'll return will be against Manchester United.


Stats that will encourage Motherwell fans, Alex McLeish is still looking for his first win at Fir Park as Rangers manager ( he couldn't win there with Motherwell either ) and April 2001 was the last time Rangers last won at Fir Park.

With one eye on the Man United game and Big Eck's shocking record at Fir Park this could be the game Rangers slip up.
