The SPL have granted Motherwell's request to postpone the Dunfermline match at Fir Park on the 25th of this month since three of the first team squad will be turning out for Scotland under - 19's which is scheduled for the same date.


First team regular David Clarkson will be joined in the Scotland squad with defenders William Kinniburgh and Paul Quinn who usually make the bench for Motherwell despite them being only 18.


Manager Terry Butcher said " It is a victory for common sense and the first time this has happened.


" We are pleased by this decision and it is a great tribute to the youth development policy at Motherwell. "


" We have a tremendous amount of young talent which has burst through into the first team in recent seasons. "
