Motherwell moved back into the top 6 with a fantastic 2 - 0 win over Dundee United recording our first win at Tannadice for 3 years thanks to goals from Derek Adams. It was Motherwell's second away win of the season, not bad considering they only managed one in the SPL for the whole of last season.





Despite worries over the fitness of Scott Leitch and Stephen Pearson both made the match. On the other hand Dundee United manager Ian McCall had to do without the servies of Scott Paterson, Collin Samuel and playmaker Charlie Miller who were all ruled out through injury.


It was Derek Adams who scored both goals to put Motherwell into the top 6. The first came after 20 minutes when referee Hugh Dallas ruled United goalkeeper Tony Bulloch had brought down Adams as he ran into the 6 yard box. The midfielder had no hesitation in taking the kick and didn't disapoint the travelling fans by putting Motherwell one up.


In recent weeks Del Boy has started to win the fans over at Fir Park by impressive displays and his performance today will only help the relationship between himself and the Motherwell fans.

Dundee United missed a glorious change to pull level when Hugh Dallas awarded the second penalty of the match when David Partridge fouled Jim McIntyre inside the box. Like Adams before him McIntyre took the kick himself but his shot was weak and Marshall saved to keep Motherwell in front at half time.


Ian McCall threw on Billy Dodds in a desperate bid to get something from the match and was nearly rewarded when the former Rangers striker came close with a effort from outside the penalty area after only a few minutes on the pitch but Marshall put it over for a corner.

Motherwell sealed the win in the final minute when United keeper Bulloch lost possesion with Clarkson and could only watch as Adams chipped him and into the net to round off a good performance.


Former Motherwell star Owen Coyle made an appearance as a second half sub but failed to make an impact.
