Tannadice is the venue this Saturday for Terry Butcher's side, a ground that hasn't been kind to us over the years. It's been 3 years since we came home from there with maximum points but stranger things have happened, we won at Easter Road after 9 years without a win !!! Alex Burns will miss this match although rumours are circulating that he could make the bench against Rangers in 2 weeks time. Terry is expected to field the same 11 who gave a solid performance against Hearts last weekend.


Dundee United will provide tough opposition for Motherwell, after a poor start to their campaign the ' Arabs are now unbeaten in 3 and showing the form which was expected from them at the start of the season and will be boosted by the signing of veteran winger Andy McLaren who was also linked with Motherwell. The United squad is injury hit, Ian McCall will be without the services of injured defender Scott Paterson who has been ruled out for another 5 weeks after meeting a specialist about his knee problem. Collin Samuel, Jim Paterson and Charlie Miller will also miss the match.

I'd like kenny Wright to be given a chance but Lasley has been outstanding this season but think he is better in middle of the park rather than right.

The first meeting at Tannadice last season saw the match finish 1 - 1 after Stephen Pearson opened the scoring early on.

Terry Butcher has this week praised the supporters through the official site, he said " The fans have also pleased us as they have stuck with us, they are so passionate about the club. They have looked at what the boys are doing and realised that they are trying to play good football. I keep telling the players that the fans will always forgive a trier if he makes a mistake but they’ll never forgive a non trier. "


He also went on to add that the players at Fir Park are playing for the jersey " Lots of players in Britain are only in the game for the money and don’t have a passion for their club but the players here have that passion. You talk to players at other teams, particularly the younger ones, and they are envious of the young players at Motherwell, for example Stephen Hammell has played nearly 150 games for our first team. "


" But our young players will get their chance, and no young player that we have brought in has come in and let us down, Kenny Wright came in against Livingston and looked as if he had been there for years. No other club in the country can have played two strikers at 17 and 18 together! "
