Two goals from striker David Clarkson gave Motherwell a 2 - 0 win over Hibernian and give the Fir Park side their first win at Easter Road for nine years. David who only turned 18 on Wednesday took the starting place of James McFadden and proved to the Motherwell fans that there is life after Faddy by bagging a double and giving Motherwell a precious win and sedning them into the top six.


Terry Butcher had no injury worries and brought in Stephen Craigan and David Clarkson to the first eleven replacing Paul Quinn and James McFadden. New signing Jason Dair started on the bench.


Motherwell eased past their hosts and were unlucky not to go in at half time 3 - 0 up, Alex Burns and Keith Lasley went close before David Clarkson put the visitors ahead a minute before the interval. Clarkson scored when he scrambled the ball into the net after a Keith Lasley shot hit the post.


Hibs rarely threatened Gordon Marshall and were finished off 15 minutes from time when new Fir Park hero David Clarkson got his second of the day. Hibs defender Yannick Zambernardi knocked back a poor passback to Andersson allowing Clarkson to nip in and score.


It was first SPL victory away from Fir Park since September 2002 when we beat Kilmarnock 3 - 0 at Rugby Park. The much needed win puts Motherwell into the top six in the league before the hard task facing the ' Steelmen ' at Celtic Park next Saturday.
