Four out of five Motherwell fans would prefer to see a central defensive partnership of Steven Craigan and William Kinniburgh according to our latest poll. 80 % who took part in the poll would like to see Terry Butcher to bring in youngster William Kinniburgh to the first team and drop Welshman David Partridge to the bench. Kinniburgh had a brief spell in the side last season before Tony Vaughan was brought in from Nottingham Forest on loan and the youngster enjoyed a good run of form.


Only 20 % agree with Terry by playing the current defensive partnership of Partridge and Craigan.


On Saturday, Terry was forced to make changes to his back line when Steven Craigan pulled out due to a stomach bug. Paul Quinn was drafted into the first eleven playing in the right back position with Martyn Corrigan going into the centre. The defence looked solid and if it was my decision I would be playing a back 4 of Quinn, Corrigan, Craigan and Hammell.
