Motherwell youngsters Stevie Hammell and Stephen Pearson were part of the Scotland Under 21 side which threw away a first half lead to lose 3 - 1 to their Norwegian counterparts. Rainer Bonhof's side went in at half time 1 - 0 in front courtesy of a goal from Preston North End striker Simon Lynch. Norway came out out stronger in the second half, Morten Pedersen netted on the rebound from a penalty after 54 minutes before adding a second with twnety minutes to go. Espen Hoff scored the third after 87 minutes.
