Motherwell striker James McFadden is hoping he'll be fit for the opening game of the season against Dundee.
McFadden who has been out with a stress fracture in his foot, similar to the injury David Beckham picked up has managed some light running over the weekend and is hoping to play a part in the friendly against Premiership side Fulham at Fir Park this Saturday.

McFadden
McFadden who was speaking to Teletext said " I managed to do some gentle running last Friday and Saturday, so I was happy about that, he said. Now I can't wait to get a ball at my feet "
" We play Fulham on Saturday and I hope to be involved in that, even if it is only for 10 minutes. "

Burns
New signing Alex Burns has also spoke of his desire to play up front with Scotland's most exciting prospect. The little forward who is in his second spell at Fir Park scored the second hat trick of his career against Ayr on Saturday and after the match claimed he just can't wait to play up front with McFadden when the season starts next week.
