Motherwell finally got thier first pre season victory over a very young Ayr United side.

A hat trick from new signing Alex Burns and a fourth from Steven Craig insured an easy 4 - 1 win over Ayr at Somerset Park. Terry Butcher takes his Motherwell side to England this Tuesday to face Third division Carlisle United who recently lost 2 - 1 to Kilmarnock. After the Carlisle match Motherwell will play thier final pre season game at Fir Park against Premiership Fulham.
