The SFA have announced it could take days to reach a decision on whether Motherwell or Falkirk should be playing in the SPL next season after tonight's meeting finished without any final decision being made. Motherwell fans had been expecting the whole Falkirk saga to be concluded tonight but the decision to delay the meeting for another 24 hours will have them sitting on the end of their seats.


An SFA spokesman said " We have spent almost three hours on the case tonight. It is a complicated set of legal arguments we are considering and to be fair to both parties we will listen to these in some depth. "


" The matter is to be continued for further deliberations tomorrow evening. "


" I can't say when the decision will actually be made - what I can say is that we will reach a decision that will be legal and binding and that is what we aim to do as quickly as possible. "


" We will go on as long as is necessary to get a decision on this. "
