Freed Motherwell goalkeeper Stevie Woods admits he's finding it difficult this summer coming to terms that he's a free agent. The former Fir Park keeper who had gave Motherwell nine years of his career is now without a club for the first time in his career, he told the Evening Times " This is the first time since I turned professional that I haven't had a club.



"It's a difficult situation and takes a fair bit of getting used to but it's just part and parcel of the game. I'm not complaining and I'm not looking for people to feel sorry for me."



Stevie was signed from Preston North End by Alex McCleish in 1994 to replace fans favourite Sieb Dykstra which was always going to be tough for him. Being freed after giving nine years service hasn't left Stevie bitter about the way he left Fir Park and is now looking forward to a new challenge he added " I had resigned myself to the fact I was leaving but then I was told there was an offer on the table right up until I was released. "



" But it's a good thing for me that I've left now, I need a fresh start. "
