Leicester City manager Micky Adams has tabled a £250,000 bid for Motherwell midfielder Stephen Pearson.

The youngster's contract at Fir Park runs out at the end of next season so there's a good chance he will be playing Premiership football next season. Terry Butcher is considering the offer.

Birmingham City and Premiership new boys Leicester City have both been tracking the Scotland under - 21 international for a while now but the foxes are the only club to put an offer on the table so far. Everyone including the player's agent realise Stephen is worth more than £250,000, he told Teletext " It might not sound a lot, but that's football these days and there's not a lot of money floating about." Pearson has said he hopes to play at a higher level in the near future. "
