Motherwell finally won after eleven attempts just as Pride of Lanarkshire predicted in our preview of the match, the 6 - 2 win was our second biggest win of the season. Terry brought in a few under - 21 players for the last match of the season. Paul Quinn who had a short run in the team earlier in the season took Tony Vaughan's position at the back and fellow defender William Kinniburgh took replaced David Partridge in the starting 11.







It looked as if it was going to be a typical Saturday when Livingston took the lead after only 15 minutes through Lee Makel but Motherwell equalised when midfielder Keith Lasley headed home from a Steven Craig cross just a few yards out. Livingston took the lead for the second and last time in the match, Colin McMenamin drilled home from 6 yards from a Juanjo Camacho corner. But Motherwell were back on level terms again three minutes later when Steven Craig took the ball past Livi defender McNamee before fired the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle.






The match then turned into the ' Faddy show ' the youngster fired in 3 goals in 10 minutes to seal the victory. Faddy's first came after an hour when David Clarkson's shot hit the post and Faddy was there to pounce and put Motherwell into the lead for the first time. The second was from the penalty spot which was awarded when Julian Maidana fouled David Clarkson. It was an audacious penalty by McFadden, he chipped the ball past a diving Alan Main. Two minutes later McFadden beat half the Livingston team to complete his hat trick to the delight of the Motherwell fans. Keith Lasley scored his second in injury time and finish the 6 - 2 rout.
