It's the result we've all been waiting on ! Motherwell will be playing SPL football next season after the SPL clubs threw out Falkirk's bid to groundshare with Airdrie United.




Falkirk were not allowed automatic entry into the SPL due to Brockville not being up to SPL requirements meaning there will be no relegation for Lanarkshire's finest. Supermarket giants Morrisons have bought the land and the bulldozers are pulling it down this month. Although Falkirk are in the process of building a new ground it won't be ready for when the new season kicks off in August plus it will only have two stands with a capacity of 7,250. The ' Bairns ' had hoped to groundshare with our local rivals Airdrie United at New Broomfield to gain entry into Scotland's top league but the SPL clubs have thrown out their bid today.




Do you feel sorry for Falkirk ?


No Falkirk knew the rules when the season begun, while other clubs were paying money to improve stadiums they went out and strenthened their squad. The other point you have to remember is Falkirk only escaped relegation into the second division when the old Airdrie went out of buisness after building their ground ( the one Falkirk would like on the cheap ) proved too much financially and Falkirk took the ' Diamonds ' First division place.

Now we know we'll be staying up Terry Butcher can now build his squad for next season and get pre season fixtures organised. Let's hope that next season will be more successful !
