Motherwell now have an anxious wait to find out whether Falkirk will be allowed to play SPL football at Airdrie's New Broomfield next season after today's defeat against Aberdeen mean's we'll finish bottom of the league and with that comes the possibility of First division football next season.


Motherwell started the match brightly and could have took the lead after a minute but Partridge headed Adams free kick wide. With 10 minutes on the clock our friend Rowbotham had turned down a decent penalty claim when Deloumeaux brought down Clarkson in the box but the ref was having none of it. Clarkson opened the scoring with 16 minutes on the clock, McFadden fired the ball across the Aberdeen goal and the youngster had no trouble placing it past Kjaer.



Motherwell then had a shocking 20 minutes losing 3 goals. Aberdeen pulled level when ex Clyde striker Leigh Hinds seized on some poor defending ( again ) to shoot low past Duboudeau for his second goal in as many weeks. Deloumeaux then sent Aberdeen into the lead, the defender fired home from 35 yards to relegate his former club. The heads were down and Aberdeen piled on the pressure and missed a couple of great chances before Paul Sheerin got the Dons third, he pounced to score after Dubourdeau spilled a shot from Hinds.



McFadden netted from the penalty spot 5 minutes from time but it was too late for Terry Butcher's men and Aberdeen went home with maximum points.



The vote on whether to let Falkirk groundshare goes ahead this Saturday so we might still be saved yet.
