Motherwell were not as good as hoped for last night. A bright start to the came was stopped with four goals came from a high Celtic side. The game started evenly with both sides with as most pressure as each other.

Celtic were first to create chances with Leitch and Woods making blocks from decent efforts.

The game got from bad to worse when David Cowan was stretchered off with a double leg break. He need two operations now to fix the damage done with a collision with Paul Lambert.

Derek Adams was sent off for an elbow on Thompson a couple of minutes later. This was the turning point in the game.

After Motherwell's two major events, Celtic took the lead through Stillian Petrov who accepted a pass from Larsson and scored beating Woodsy at his near post.

Motherwell were fired up for the start of the second half however Petrov added his and Celtic's second 11 minutes into the half.

Paul Lambert added a double against his old club to make matters worse for Motherwell and put Celtic on top of the league. Motherwell brought on Lehmann and Offiong but never really looked much like scoring.
