It was the same old story for the Motherwell fans who travelled down to East End Park, another defeat and yet another red card. Stevie Hampshire, Barry Nicholson and Noel Hunt got the goals for the Pars to gain revenge for their 2 - 1 defeat at Fir Park in Febuary which is the last time Motherwell have won in the SPL.


Tony Vaughan was sent off just before the break to keep up Motherwell's poor disciplinary record. The defender had tugged Craig Brewsters jersey and was shown the red card as he was the last man.


Terry Butcher brought David Cowan back into the side replacing Stephen Pearson who was suspended. There were no other changes from the side that won at Stranraer in the cup.

Dunfermline took the lead through a player who wasn't supposed to be in the side, Stevie Hampshire started after Stevie Crawford picked up a rib injury playing for Scotland on Wednesday night. Dunfermline broke up the park and Craig Brewster had his shot saved by Duboudeau and Hampshire placed the ball into a empty net. Dunfermline doubled their lead five minutes after the break through midfielder Barry Nicholson, the ex - Rangers man latched on to a flick from Brewster, drew the Dubourdeau to one side and thumped it underneath his body. Irish striker Noel Hunt finshed the job with the Pars 3rd goal 13 minutes from time with a shot from the edge of the box.
