Ex - Motherwell defender Greg Strong has once again spoke out at the way the club treated him last year when they went into administration.
Greg who is now with English side Hull City was one of ten players released from their contracts when John Boyle called in administrator Bryan Jackson last year. The players are appealing thier sacking and will find out nex month if it's successful next month. Nine other players whose contracts were up at the end of the season were told they wouldn't be renewed.
The defender told the Daily Record " I think it is scandalous that 10 players have had to wait this length of time for the SPL to convene an appeals board to hear our grievances "
" It's a shambles that Motherwell can still take on new players while we go without justice. "
The other players are -
Mark Brown ( Inverness ),
Stephen Cosgrove ( Clyde ),
Andy Dow ( Arbroath ),
Eddie Forrest ( Arbroath ),
Roberto Martinez, ( Walsall )
Brian Macdonald,
Karl Ready ( Aldershot Town ),
Kevin Twaddle ( Hearts )
Stephen Nicholas ( Stirling Albion )
Looking at the table above shows you most of these players have took a step down apart Kevin Twaddle who is the only one to stay in the SPL. Mark Brown is tipped to join Aberdeen from Inverness in the summer after some excellent performnaces including a win over Celtic in the Scottish Cup. Stephen Nicholas is having one of his best seasons yet scoring 11 goals for Stirling Albion although that's in the 3rd Division.
