It's been a quiet two days on the City transfer rumour front, the most genuine rumour being the Effenberg one. Mcfconline will keep you posted on all the news and rumours so keep visiting.
Effenberg on his way to Maine Road?Rumours seem to suggest that transfer talks between Stefan Effenberg and Manchester City are reaching an advanced stage. Effenberg has found himself frozen out at Bayern after claiming Germany's unemployed were lazy scroungers. That, together with his stated desire to play in the Premiership, seem to be pointing towards a move to Maine Road. City are refusing to deny that they have approached Effenberg (in marked contrast to the denial they put out when Ince was linked). A deal may well be announced in the next week or two.
O'Leary rules out Keane moveDavid O'Leary seems to have ruled out a move to Maine Road for Robbie Keane. O'Leary has stated that he wishes to retain his five strikers for next season to give him the sort of selection headache he likes. Whether his five forwards will enjoy this selection headache is another matter, as is the enormous debts that the club may have to reel in by selling. Come what may, if Keane is still available, Citty may well find they have competition off Liverpool for his signature. Keep coming back, we'll keep you informed. |
